To provide strategic guidance and recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners on effectively utilizing Jefferson County’s opioid settlement funds to address the opioid crisis.

Meetings & Location:
The committee typically meets bi-monthly held on the First Monday on Odd Months from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
All Task Force meetings shall be open to the public, meeting agendas shall be publicly posted in accordance with the Colorado Open Meetings Law on the Jefferson County Task Force web page (https://www.jeffco.us/4857/Jefferson-County-Opioid-Task-Force). All Task Force meetings shall be held virtually through Jefferson County’s Webex meeting links found on the agenda for each meeting.
Composition: The Jefferson County Opioid Task Force shall consist of members and alternate members, appointed by Board of County Commissioners. The Jefferson County Opioid Task Force shall elect a Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson from among its membership that is responsible for convening meetings and setting the agenda.
Terms: The Board of County Commissioners will appoint or reappoint members at the Board of County Commissioner’s sole discretion, to have the following terms: four (4) voting members will have two-year terms, four (4) voting members will have one-year terms, alternate members for each voting member will have the same terms as the primary voting member terms in order to stagger the term end dates after the initial establishment year per the Board and Commission Appointments Policy.
Each of the following County departments and offices shall have the opportunity to recommend one regular and one alternate to serve on the Task Force: (a) Jefferson County Public Health; (b) Jefferson County Department of Human Services; (c) Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office; (d) 1st Judicial District, District Attorney’s Office; (e) Justice Services; (f) Jefferson County Coroner’s Office; (g) Jefferson County Public Library; and (h) Jefferson County Human Resources.
The Task Force’s primary mandate is to provide strategic guidance and recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners on effectively utilizing Jefferson County’s opioid settlement funds to address the opioid crisis. Such mandate shall include, among other things, the following:
